Canada's Wonderland - July 26th, 2022

On Tuesday, July 26th my brother Scott and I made another visit to Canada's Wonderland! It was another great day as we got on quite a few rides despite the park being quite busy!

Later in the day we had met up with our cousin Brook and her son William. It was a great afternoon and evening getting William to ride some of the larger rides, including his first looping roller coaster, Dragon Fyre! It is something I look forward to doing again soon!

Below are various shots of a great day at the park! :-)

The humidity was minimal and there was a nice cool breeze when we had arrived at Canada's Wonderland before opening for what would be my fifth visit of the season!

During this visit I was in the mood for capturing hard to get photos! Here's a glimpse of Flight Deck near the Old Time photo booth in the Grande World Exposition of 1890.

A close-up view of the yellow train on Mighty Canadian Minebuster's lift hill from the Yukon Striker queue.

For the first time in quite a few years, the waterfalls on White Water Canyon were working again!

The construction on the new dining facility known as the Lazy Bear Lodge has come a long ways over the past few months.

It is definitely be a large dining facility!

While I didn't ride Vortex during this visit, it was providing thrilling rides all day long!

Sledge Hammer was also operating all day long!

As mentioned many times before, Swing of the Century is a beautiful example of a Wave Swinger ride from Zierer. It is a great ride which many visitors can ride.

With how busy it was at the park, both gondolas on Riptide were in use. Although it doesn't look like riders get wet on it anymore.

Once the sun begins to set, International Street comes to life!

As we were leaving just before closing, a light show was taking place on International Street.

It was really cool as it featured all different sorts of lights shining on everything!

It was quite the sight to see!

It was a great way to end an amazing day at the park!

Here is Scott and I just before we headed home after another great day at Canada's Wonderland! :-)

La Ronde (Part Two) - July 20th and 21st, 2022

Wednesday, July 20th, 2022:

I made another visit to La Ronde again on July 20th to see the L'International des Feux Loto-Québec (Fireworks show) at night as it is a well-known event! The firework show I saw was themed to Italy and featured 30 minutes of spectacular fireworks that lit up the night sky, with the show starting at 10pm.

As it was a fireworks show day at La Ronde, the park was open from 1pm to 11:30pm, allowing for some awesome night rides after the fireworks show!

I arrived an hour before the park opened for the day and was able to join the line close to the entrance. There was a slight breeze which gave some relief from the humid air.

After the park opened, I headed over to Boomerang. Afterwards I did Chaos, a Larson Giant Loop ride. The ride operator held me at the top for a long time when I had rode it!

Of interest, I had seen this unit at Six Flags Great Adventure during my visit in July 2018. For the 2019 season it was relocated to La Ronde.

The Manitou, a Zamperla Nitro frisbee ride is still rocking at the park. While it doesn't swing as high, it is still fun!

After cooling off on Le Splash and spin drying on Phoenix and Tourbillon, I joined the line for another wild ride on the Monstre!

I just really enjoy its layout. As I had discovered four years ago, you can sit in any row on the trains and still have an amazing ride!

There is also a decent amount of airtime too!

The Monstre just doesn't give up from the moment the train goes down the first drop on either track to the time it hits the brake run! It just provides a relentless ride from start to finish! That's what made me fall in love with this coaster four years ago!

The Vampire's zero g-roll is very forceful!

It is still riding strong 20 years since it debuted at the park!

With the placement of the rides at La Ronde, there are many great photo opportunities! It's too bad that the Vol Ultime Starflyer ride was closed during my visit as it gives great views of the park.

One ride I did not get to experience during my first visit to La Ronde four years ago was the Aqua Twist. Luckily for me it was hot out, so I took many rides on it during my visits to the park! It is a Mack Twist 'n' Splash ride that I found to be quite addicting and really fun to ride as you get to spray other riders and bystanders with the attached water guns as you spin around!

Ednor - L'attaque's colour scheme is very eye-catching.

Like I've said before, it gives a tolerable ride for a Vekoma SLC with the original trains.

The Auto Tamponneuses is a unique bumper car ride that I really enjoyed four years ago. It provided a decent ride during my visit this time around.

The placement of Orbite and Titan along the edge of Lac Dauphin makes for some perfect photo opportunities!

I can never get tired of views like this!

Throughout the day crews were finishing up the final touches for the firework show that would happen later that night.

Another ride I had forgotten how intense it was is the Toboggan Nordique, a Zamperla Wild Mouse ride. It operates with no brakes as you zip around the tight turns!

La Ronde is beautiful once the sun begins to set!

The sunlight shining through the Grande Roue is just stunning!

As the sun was setting, it began to lightly rain for a few minutes, causing a rainbow to form in the sky.

La Ronde comes alive at night once the sun begins to set! Many of the rides have dazzling light packages!

Tourbillon's LED lights were bright and flashy!

The Pirate looks really great after its refurbishment last year!

The Grande Roue also has a nice light package too.

As the sun began to set, I was counting down the moments until I could take some night rides on Monstre!

Park visitors were still cooling down on Splash even after the sun had set!

There's nothing like a giant Ferris Wheel all lit up along the edge of the water.

The Jacques Cartier Bridge that gets you to the park also is lit at night with flood light and small "chaser" type lights.

When I had captured this photo, it was almost show time for the fireworks show!

I had a great seat near the Fort Edmonton section that faced the water. The show started off with a loud bang!

It was a beautiful display of many fireworks!

I just kept snapping away!

The use of both traditional fireworks and swirling fireworks was really cool!

Some of the fireworks were huge and really lit up the night sky!

Some fireworks made the water look as if it were on fire.

The shimmering fireworks are always a delight to see!

I took many photos during the performance. I narrowed it down to just over 30 photos to share online!

The "jumping" fireworks close to the water were really cool.

These fireworks were really loud, but spectacular.

You could really tell how much work was put into this show as it was just stunning!

This shot makes it looks like there were small laser beams going into the sky. haha

These fireworks looked like tree branches with leaves.

I personally prefer colourful fireworks. The use of both really looked nice!

More swirling and shimmering fireworks were used throughout the show.

Here are some more "laser light" looking fireworks.

The view I had of the show was spectacular.

You could feel some of the explosions that the large fireworks made.

There were just so many fireworks within the 30 minute show!

These small red fireworks looked like a water fountain spraying upwards towards the sky.

The centre of these fireworks were red.

Some of the fireworks were quite smoky.

The yellowy green fireworks were quite neat.

The ones that followed were more of a minty green.

These red fireworks were quite vibrant!

During the fireworks show, all the rides around the lake a closed beforehand. The Grande Roue was being smoked out during the show!

This shot of the Grande Roue is quite eerie!

In this shot it looks like actual fire is falling from the sky.

These neon purple fireworks were rather cool!

There was definitely a lot going on in the sky!

The sphere shaped fireworks are always neat to see.

These pink fireworks were really cool too!

The Jacques Cartier Bridge is closed down during the run of the fireworks show. I guess it would act as quite the distraction for motorists!

Just another array of fireworks flying loose into the night sky!

After the show was over, the lights on the Grande Roue came back on, illuminating the smoke that had formed over the water!

Once it got closer to 11:30pm, I headed over to Monstre for a night ride! This is something I was looking forward to as it wasn't dark out during my visit to the park four years ago.

While Monstre is wild during the day, it is extremely wild at night as you can hardly see where you are going! I am glad to have experienced a night ride on this awesome wooden roller coaster!

Here I am just as I was heading out for the night after another amazing day and evening at La Ronde!

Thursday, July 21st, 2022:

During my final day in Montreal, I made one final visit to La Ronde. To my surprise the park wasn't very busy for a Thursday. It allowed me to get many re-rides on the rides that I really enjoy at the park! La Ronde was open from 10:30am to 7pm. Below are some photos capturing my final moments of my trip!

On Friday, July 22nd I made the six and a half hour drive back home. I had a great week in Montreal and at La Ronde! Here's hoping another four years doesn't pass by before I visit again!

Just a couple of small groups were ahead of me at opening time.

Goliath is one mighty "hyper" coaster with its winding layout!

These coasters are just so photogenic!

I took a few spins on one of my favourite flat rides at La Ronde, the Disco Ronde!

The Disco Ronde is one of two Huss Break Dance rides to operate in Canada.

It is just a fun ride all around with its spinning motion! I was fortunate to have rode it again many times during my visit!

Its colours and lights look very nice in my opinion!

The Tourbillon, a Tilt-A-Whirl is also a fun ride. This one is special to me as I was among the first to experience it on opening weekend back in May 2018! It was a great experience for a Tilt-A-Whirl lover such as myself!

There are just so many angles you can capture the Ednor from!

This section of La Ronde where the Ednor, Dragon, and Grande Roue are is quite charming.

I like it how the Tour de Ville just swings over your head as you walk by!

I was sure to take more rides on the Aqua Twist!

The Arrow Mini Mine Train known as Marche du Mille-pattes has been operating for 55 years as of 2022! Unfortunately it is only available to children or adults who have small kids to ride with.

It has a nice small winding layout, perfect for thrill seekers in training! It is one of two Arrow Mini Mine Train coasters in existence as of 2022.

You can just feel the airtime of Orbite just looking at this photo!

The Vampire is just amazing and rides well like it had during my visit four years ago. I wish this roller coaster was closer to home!

The flowerbeds at La Ronde are quite beautiful!

Here's an almost silhouette photo of Vampire as the sun shines through one of its loops!

Here are two Zamperla manufactured attractions in one shot! Too bad that Titan wasn't swinging at the time!

After another fun day at La Ronde, it was time to head out and get some rest before the drive home the following day! It sure was a blast being back again! :-)
