Monday, August 30th marked my fourth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! While I went to the park solo, I did end up spending it with Amadeo and his friends, all fellow amusement park enthusiasts after coming across them at Behemoth once the park had opened. It was great riding rides together throughout the day! Below are some photos of my day at Canada's Wonderland!
The line to get into the park before opening was quite long as many had made reservations to visit the park during the final week of August. |
Here is a view of the majestic Wonder Mountain and Royal Fountains. After entering the park, I ventured over towards Behemoth where I eventually met Amadeo and his friends. |
After riding Behemoth twice in a row, we saw Sledge Hammer operating so we quickly joined the line to ride this one-of-a-kind ride. It was great to be able to ride Sledge Hammer again after nearly two years since my last ride on it! It provided a smoother ride than in previous seasons, but only operated at half capacity during my visit with three of the six gondolas blocked off. Here's hoping it becomes fully operational again next year. |
The Bat was providing forwards and backwards thrills throughout the day. Amadeo and I would later make it our second last ride of the day! |
Spinovator was filled with spinning fun as usual! Spinovator is a ride at Canada's Wonderland that always puts a smile on my face! |
While I did not get on Wilde Beast during this visit, I did capture this rather hard to get shot of it! |
Later in the day I headed into the Canada's Wonderland 40th Anniversary Shop to see what there was in terms of souvenirs. |
The store is located in Grande World Exposition of 1890 and has 40th anniversary souvenir t-shirts, water bottles, sweaters, lanyards, pins, mugs, and magnets for sale. Quite the selection to choose from! I settled for a t-shirt and a shot glass.
The store also has a timeline mural displaying the park's history over the past forty years! It was a nice touch! |
Also on display within the store were pieces from the Character Carousel when it was known as Hanna-Barbera-Go-Round from 1981 through 2009. Some of these pieces such as Fred Flintstone on this train car were stored in the depths of Wonder Mountain until recently. |
Here is a Yogi Bear seat from the carousel. |
And a Scooby-Doo seat too! |
As the sun began to set, Amadeo and I started to get our final rides of the day in as the park closed at 8pm. Our final rides we took were on The Bat and Leviathan! Pictured is a train passing through the final inversion on Yukon Striker! |
Here I am in line waiting for the last train of the day on Leviathan to dispatch with guests! It was quite the ride and worth the near hour long wait! |
After Amadeo and I got our night ride on Leviathan, it was time to leave. Here is Wonder Mountain in all its nighttime glory as I was heading out for the night! I must say it was great hanging out with Amadeo and his friends for 10+ hours at the park! Hoping to do it again one day!
Thanks for checking out my photos from a great fourth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! :-) |
