Canada's Wonderland - September 26th, 2025

On the evening of Friday, September 26th, my brother Scott and I made our first Halloween Haunt visit of 2025 at Canada's Wonderland!

We had a great time checking out the mazes, including the all-new experience, The Conjuring Beyond Fear! It was a truly awesome experience and one I would highly recommend!

With my all-season Halloween Haunt Haunted Attractions Express pass for the mazes, we were able to enjoy all the mazes multiple times throughout the evening. I look forward to making more visits to Halloween Haunt throughout the month of October! Enjoy the photos, if you dare... 💀🎃

Our evening started out in the parking lot as the security gates did not open until 5:45pm.

Once through the gates, it only took a couple of minutes to get into the park.

Once inside the park, Scott and I went to the redemption centre just past Guest Services to redeem our all-season Haunted Attractions Express Pass for the mazes as they are now an up-charge this year and not included with admission.

After redeeming our wrist bands, we made our way to the booth at The Conjuring Beyond Fear attraction to book a time slot. The monsters were coming out.

They made their appearance known!

This band gives you express access to all of the mazes and one visit to The Conjuring Beyond Fear each visit when purchased before Halloween Haunt began! It was a great deal!

The Conjuring Beyond Fear is located on the corner of Wonder Mountain, below Thunder Run. All guests wishing to access The Conjuring Beyond Fear must book a time and have a maze wristband. We booked the 8:30pm time slot!

The former slap shot hockey game location was transformed into a gift shop for The Conjuring Beyond Fear.

With Halloween Haunt now starting at 6pm this year, we thought the mazes would be open by then. We were informed that they begin at 6:30pm. So while we waited, we rode Drop Tower and Leviathan. Once 6:30pm came along we were among the first to go inside The Crypt this year. The Crypt was actually better than I remembered it!

The park was nicely decorated for Halloween Haunt!

After a walk through the Crypt, we circled back up to the front of the park to do The Dark Ride maze. I hadn't done this one before, so I wasn't too sure what to expect. It wasn't very scary, but rather hilarious. I must add that it is better at night!

Monsters were now roaming around the front of the park, terrifying guests as they entered the park for the evening!

Up next was The Ruins. Not much has changed since I last worked at the park in 2018 and 2019 as a maze usher, but it does seem darker than I recall! Those walls are a bit sharp if you're not careful! Haha

Afterwards, we circled around to The Bat which luckily had a short wait! It was thrilling as usual!

Just after 7pm, I had mu first meal of the night from Après Poutinerie. I had the Halloween Haunt inspired Witch's Poutine, consisting of jerk chicken, sour cream, and nacho cheese spread over fries. It was quite good and thankfully not very spicy. I would order it again as it is is on the dining plan.

Many monsters were lurking in wicked hollow next to Vortex.

We got a photo with one of them!

The structures in Wicked Hallow have different coloured lights inside.

After walking through Wicked Hallow, we arrived at Spirit Manor and Demons of The Deep. I've always enjoyed Spirit Manor. This was the first time I experienced Demons of the Deep as it wasn't a maze a few years ago. It was well themed, but didn't have many startling points throughout it.

I love the use of the orange and red flood lights. it adds to the atmosphere!

Along Yukon Striker is Trick or Treat Street scare zone. It is well themed.

The scare actors are dressed well, but didn't really get close to any of the guests.

Up next was Corn Stalkers. It is still a good maze, but I wish they would spread the guests out more to experience the jump scares better.

The props look good under the dark lights.

After going through Corn Stalkers, it was time to ride Sledge Hammer! Night rides on this always seem different!

After Sledge Hammer, we walked through the Streets of the Undead scare zone. It was okay, but could have been better with jump scares.

The scare actors looked really good, though!

Up next we walked through Necropolis, the scare zone past Antique Carousel. It was well themed, but didn't seem to have too many scare actors.

The scare actors there were doing a good job.

It's always fun when they interact with guests!

There's something eerie about Flight Deck against a night sky!

For 2025, CarnEvil was placed in the plaza in Grande World Exposition of 1890. It just seems out of place there. Maybe one day it will return to AlpenFest?

The actors in CarnEvil do a very good job at interacting with the guests!

I've always love the hanging Jacko lanterns in the entrance to Grande World Expo!

There are some great animations along International Street.

International Street always looks great at night during Halloween Haunt!
Here's a short video of one of the scare actors on International Street near the front gate interacting with park guests.

At 8:30pm, Scott and I did The Conjuring Beyond Fear attraction. It was a really cool, well done attraction featuring various rooms and scenes lead by tour guides! We had such a great time! Some of the effects used were absolutely phenomenal! I highly recommend it!

Here's the pumpkin creatures by Shockwave illuminated in the dark! Speaking of the dark, we would take a ride on Vortex in the dark! It is always a wild roller coaster ride once the sun sets!

We later watched the Inferno show on Arthur's Baye in Medieval Faire. It is a very well done fire and dive show!

Medieval Faire is home to the Kingdom of Carnage scare zone.

A really bad plague has hit the area!

The ogre was greeting guests at the Medieval Faire bridge.

Here's another view of International Street during opening night of Halloween Haunt. It was quite warm (about 17°C), so there wasn't much fog around the park.

Here's Scott and I with one of the scare actors on International Street. The way the light caught my eyes and face, I could have been a part of the show! 🤣

We then returned to do the Dark Ride, this time in the dark. It was much better this time around.

Wonder Mountain was changing different colours thanks to some very bright flood lights. I personally preferred it illuminated with red lights!

Wicked Hollow scare zone looks really cool at night!

The spider webs under Vortex looked a bit too cheerful and not very eerie with the bright lighting.

The Freak Show featured various stunts, including the cutting of an apple held in the mouth of a performer.

The Royal Fountain almost looked like blood flowing in this shot thanks to the use of red flood lights.

After 11pm, Scott and I headed over to Lazy bear Lodge for my final meal of the night. I ordered the Halloween Haunt featured smoked BBQ chicken wings with a side of roasted butternut squash. While it looked really good, unfortunately my food was very cold and the butternut squash had seasoning that made it very spicy. If the food wasn't cold, I would have enjoyed it better!

Here's one last look at International Street before the park closed for the night at 12am.

As Scott and I were getting one last photo of our night at Halloween Haunt, a scare actor snuck in! 🤣That's all for our first visit of the season to Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland! Until next time... 🎃
