Canada's Wonderland - October 9th, 2021

Saturday's weather was rainy at times, making it a great day for my sixth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland on this Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend! The rainy weather made the lines for the rides nearly non-existent, thus allowing me to get on nearly 20 different rides, some more than once within seven hours.

Also during my visit, I looked at the Halloween Haunt scare zones in the daylight that are set up around the park this October. I also hung out with fellow enthusiasts Matt and Tyler for the last couple of hours of my visit. We rode a few rides together, including my last ride of the day, Leviathan!

Be sure to enjoy some photos from my visit to Canada's Wonderland, as seen below!

This is what the entrance to the park looked like at 9:40am, 20 minutes before the park officially opened for the day! It was quite surprising to see considering it was the Thanksgiving long weekend! But the rain sure kept people away!

The pumpkin display on International Street brightened up this somewhat dreary Saturday in October!

At both sides of the flowerbed at the base of the Royal Fountain were these goofy looking skeletons.

Since my last visit to Canada's Wonderland in mid-September, the globe in the Grande World Exposition of 1890 had been turned into a Jack o'Lantern once again for the Halloween Haunt season.

The rope drop at Grande World Exposition of 1890 had very few people waiting for a day of thrills.

I started off my day with a quick ride on Backlot Stunt Coaster followed by Behemoth, which I was the only one on the train at the time!

Afterwards I rode Sledge Hammer. I managed to get four rides on it throughout my visit!

In front of Time Warp is the Halloween Haunt scare zone, Forest of Fear. In the daytime you can see it uses some interesting props such as this old row boat. With the use of lighting and scare actors, I imagine this area looks quite different at night.

In the Frontier Canada section alongside Yukon Striker is the Farmstead scare zone. Once night rolls around, the area is probably lurking with some rather interesting characters.

In Medieval Faire is the Kingdom of Carnage. The props used for this scare zone look rather interesting.

It would be neat to see how the scare actors use the props within the area trying to scare unsuspecting victims, err I mean guests during Halloween Haunt.

Here's a look at a relatively empty Medieval Faire. The rain continued to make the crowds minimal!

From Thunder Run's queue I managed to capture this closeup shot through the trees of Shockwave in action!

Here comes the train of Thunder Run speeding into the station.

For the 2021 edition of Halloween Haunt, the park set up the Trick-Or-Treat scare zone up along the path underneath Vortex.

Creepy zombie pumpkins have overtaken Xtreme Skyflyer which sat non-operational this year due to the pandemic.

Throughout Medieval Faire were some nice bale, flowers, and pumpkin arrangements such as the one pictured.

The guy in the CarnEvil ticket booth near Thunder Run looked to be a bit out of it. ;-)

The Fly was providing thrills filled with tight turns between the periods of rain.

Behemoth sure is filled with a lot of airtime!

In front of Timberwolf Falls were these interesting pumpkin sculptures, adding to the Fall and Halloween theming.

After a day of fun in the rain, it was time to go as the park closed at 5pm in order to prepare for the nighttime operation of Halloween Haunt. Thank you for checking out my photos of my day at Canada's Wonderland! :-)

Canada's Wonderland - September 18th, 2021

On Saturday, September 18th I made my fifth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! It was a beautiful day as the temperature was a high of 24°C (75°F) with a slight breeze. The beautiful weather led to a busy day at the park, with many of the ride lines being quite long in the afternoon as Season Pass Holders are no longer required to make a reservation to the park during the daytime on weekends through the end of October. Also during my visit I noticed some Halloween decorations set up for Halloween Haunt which begins for the 2021 season on September 24th.

Despite the long lines, I managed to ride 11 different rides throughout the day! Overall my visit to Canada's Wonderland was another great one as I spent it with my brother Scott, our Mom, and our friend Travis for a bit in the morning! Be sure to look at the photos of my day below!

It didn't take too long to get into the park just before opening time on this mid-September Saturday morning.

Once inside the park, Scott, Travis, and I headed over to Yukon Striker.

On our way over to Yukon Striker I noticed the park had set up the Halloween Jack O' Lanterns over the pathway leading into the Grande World Exposition of 1890.

After getting a ride on Yukon Striker, we rode Sledge Hammer followed by Behemoth. All were running great today!

After riding Behemoth Scott and I did Sling Shot, the upcharge attraction. We hadn't done it since 2018, but it was just as thrilling as we had remembered! There's nothing like being shot up 300 feet into the air to then flip upside down a few times throughout the duration of the ride!

After our journey skywards, I captured this photo of Yukon Striker.

Here is Scott, Travis, and I before Travis headed out for the day.

The usual Halloween Haunt spider web decorations under Vortex's lift hill were all set up for Halloween Haunt. These bring back memories of the time when I was a Maze Usher for The Ruins and Blackout mazes inside Wonder Mountain for the 2018 and 2019 Halloween Haunt seasons. You had to be careful not to knock the decorations with the large yellow end of the line sign!

The park slowly began to get busier as the day rolled into the afternoon.

In Medieval Faire they had these cool arrangements set up on the lamp posts for Halloween Haunt.

On the edge of Medieval Faire near The Bat, the Funnel Cakes and Jester's Courtyard shops were decked out for Winterfest, an event which is returning for a second season later this year. Winterfest had debuted at the park in November 2019.

The Mighty Canadian Minebuster was providing classic thrills today. It rode quite well in the slightly cooler weather!

The flowers throughout the park were still looking quite vibrant for being mid-September!

After a fun day filled with thrills, it was time for us to head out! Thank you for looking at my photos of another day spent at Canada's Wonderland! :-)

Canada's Wonderland - August 30th, 2021

Monday, August 30th marked my fourth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! While I went to the park solo, I did end up spending it with Amadeo and his friends, all fellow amusement park enthusiasts after coming across them at Behemoth once the park had opened. It was great riding rides together throughout the day! Below are some photos of my day at Canada's Wonderland!

The line to get into the park before opening was quite long as many had made reservations to visit the park during the final week of August.

Here is a view of the majestic Wonder Mountain and Royal Fountains. After entering the park, I ventured over towards Behemoth where I eventually met Amadeo and his friends.

After riding Behemoth twice in a row, we saw Sledge Hammer operating so we quickly joined the line to ride this one-of-a-kind ride. It was great to be able to ride Sledge Hammer again after nearly two years since my last ride on it! It provided a smoother ride than in previous seasons, but only operated at half capacity during my visit with three of the six gondolas blocked off. Here's hoping it becomes fully operational again next year.

The Bat was providing forwards and backwards thrills throughout the day. Amadeo and I would later make it our second last ride of the day!

Spinovator was filled with spinning fun as usual! Spinovator is a ride at Canada's Wonderland that always puts a smile on my face!

While I did not get on Wilde Beast during this visit, I did capture this rather hard to get shot of it!

Later in the day I headed into the Canada's Wonderland 40th Anniversary Shop to see what there was in terms of souvenirs.

The store is located in Grande World Exposition of 1890 and has 40th anniversary souvenir t-shirts, water bottles, sweaters, lanyards, pins, mugs, and magnets for sale. Quite the selection to choose from! I settled for a t-shirt and a shot glass.

The store also has a timeline mural displaying the park's history over the past forty years! It was a nice touch!

Also on display within the store were pieces from the Character Carousel when it was known as Hanna-Barbera-Go-Round from 1981 through 2009. Some of these pieces such as Fred Flintstone on this train car were stored in the depths of Wonder Mountain until recently.

Here is a Yogi Bear seat from the carousel.

And a Scooby-Doo seat too!

As the sun began to set, Amadeo and I started to get our final rides of the day in as the park closed at 8pm. Our final rides we took were on The Bat and Leviathan! Pictured is a train passing through the final inversion on Yukon Striker!

Here I am in line waiting for the last train of the day on Leviathan to dispatch with guests! It was quite the ride and worth the near hour long wait!

After Amadeo and I got our night ride on Leviathan, it was time to leave. Here is Wonder Mountain in all its nighttime glory as I was heading out for the night! I must say it was great hanging out with Amadeo and his friends for 10+ hours at the park! Hoping to do it again one day!

Thanks for checking out my photos from a great fourth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! :-)

Canada's Wonderland - August 12th, 2021

Today marked my third visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! The park was a bit busier than my last visit, but the waits for the rides were still quite minimal.

The cleaning of the rides every so many cycles was more evident during my visit today which was nice to see. On another positive note, it looks like the Canada's Wonderland 40th Anniversary Store in Grande World Exposition of 1890 near Xtreme Skyflyer looks like it is almost ready to open! I look forward to seeing what merchandise they have in stock to celebrate the park's 40th anniversary! Also of interest, more attractions had reopened since our last visit including Wonder Mountain's Guardian, Speed City Raceway, and Slingshot. Having those attractions open again has helped spread more people around the park.

Be sure to check out the photos of this visit I made with my brother Scott and our Mom, below! :-)

The skies were quite overcast at the start of our day at the park.

After entering the park onto International Street Scott and I headed over to Yukon Striker, our first ride of the day.

Yukon Striker's trains zip along its twisted and loopy track!

Viking's Rage is celebrating 40 years of high-sea thrills this season!

Here's a 'flowery view' of Leviathan in Medieval Faire.

I hadn't rode Soaring Timbers since 2019, so I decided to ride it again today. While it provided a lot of swooping and diving, it just isn't as thrilling as it could be. The way it is operated is like that of a Eyerly Roll-O-Plane ride, just on a larger scale. There is nothing wrong with that, but knowing how it previously operated before arriving at Canada's Wonderland is still a bit of a let down even to this day, four years after it debuted at the park. Also it is in need of a fresh coat of paint as it looks quite faded on the boom now.

Sledge Hammer sat idle with no testing, unlike during our previous visit. Here's hoping it is able to operate with guests at least once this season!

The Immelmann inversion on Yukon Striker is quite photogenic, even from Action Zone!

It looks like the Canada's Wonderland 40th anniversary store will be opening soon! There was a lot of activity taking place inside during our visit.

Despite it being somewhat windy at times, Drop Tower was offering sky-high thrills all day long!

While we did not ride Thunder Run this visit, park guests were thundering through and into the depths of Wonder Mountain.

Here's a distanced view of the orange train navigating the turn around on Mighty Canadian Minebuster.

The figures atop the Antique Carousel's pavilion stood out against the wispy cloud-filled skies!

After a day of fun, excitement, and many rides it was time we headed home. Thanks for looking at photos from my third visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! :-)
