Today was my second visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland. It had started out foggy, then turned to partially sunny skies, and finally a huge storm burst came up. After we had left for the day, the high winds had uprooted some trees nearby International Show Place, ultimately causing the park to close down for the remainder of the day. While we were there, my brother Scott, our Mom, and I had an amazing time! Be sure to check out the photos below of our great day!
When we arrived at the park shortly after 9:30 am, Leviathan was barely visible in the fog! It made for an interesting ride! |
Looking down International Street you could hardly see Wonder Mountain due to the thick fog. |
After an hour and a half after riding many rides, including the all-new Lumberjack, we walked by the construction site of the new for 2019 roller coaster. The construction crew was really working hard early in the day. |
Near the edge of the Whitewater Canyon section, alongside Splash Works, construction was well underway for the new additions and improvements for Splash Works this year. |
After a few more rides, we decided to get a bite to eat from the Chicken Shack in Action Zone. While waiting to order, I had zoomed far in on Flight Deck. If you look closely, you can see the expressions on the passengers' faces as their ride is about to begin! |
While still waiting to order our lunch, Orbiter had temporarily gone down for a few minutes. It slowly rose to this up-right position for a minute until it lowered once again to then became operational shortly after. |
After lunch, we spent a couple of hours taking in some more rides. At that time, I decided to take a second ride on the all-new for 2018, Lumberjack. |
Here you can see the arms on Lumberjack gaining momentum before sending passengers head over heals multiple times throughout the duration of the ride. |
Lumberjack provides a decent amount of hang time too! |
As I had mentioned on Season Pass Sneak preview Night the week before, the theming of Lumberjack is quite impressive. The employees at Zamperla of Italy sure did a great job! I can see Lumberjack being a very popular attraction at Canada's Wonderland for years to come! |
After riding Lumberjack, we ventured up the way to the White Water Canyon section of the park to check out the all-new for 2018 family ride, Flying Canoes. Pictured is a new billboard within the White Water Canyon section of the park. |
Here is a close-up view of the very decorative Flying Canoes, an Avio 14 model ride produced by Preston & Barbieri of Italy. |
Since the park was not busy, I decided to take a ride on the family friendly, Flying Canoes. |
While I was on board, Scott took a few photos. While the ride is in motion, the boats rise and lower. They can also stay up by pressing the button located next to the passenger seat, which made it a rather interactive ride. |
Here I am taking a spin on Flying Canoes! While it is designed as a family ride, it was still quite fun, even for a thrill-seeker like myself. |
Flying Canoes is a perfect addition to White Water Canyon and should be a very popular ride for families to enjoy together for many years to come. |
After getting on some more rides, we had walked by The Bat. Here you can see that the train had gotten stuck between the loop and the cobra roll due to a power failure of the second lift hill, causing it to not gain enough momentum, according to some sources. |
After looking at The Bat, Scott and I were about to ride Nightmares just before a wild storm came up, causing all the rides to close immediately. During that time, we had played games in the Arcadium in Medieval Faire. :-) |
After a quick down burst, we had left the arcade and ventured out of the park. While the winds were progressively getting stronger throughout the day, they were quite gusty by this point! Luckily we had rode many rides beforehand! |
Since the weather was not getting any better, we decided to head home after a great day at the park! Here is our Mom, Scott, and I taking a quick pose in front of Wonder Mountain before we headed home. Thanks for reading! :-) |
