Canada's Wonderland - August 25th, 2025

On August 25th, I made my eighth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland. This time I went by myself and was able to get on a handful of rides despite the park being very busy! It rained a couple times during the afternoon, but that didn't ruin my final weekday visit of the 2025 season as I went prepared. I'm looking forward to Fall weekend visits, which will be coming very soon!

Be sure to enjoy the photos from today's visit! 🙂

I arrived to the park on this cooler, late-August day at 9:30am. As soon as the gates opened, I was off to AlpenFury.

On my way over to AlpenFury, I noticed work was being done on the former slap shot hockey game structure location across from Thunder Run. It looks like it might be transformed into another game.

Unfortunately AlpenFury started off with an hour long delay. On a positive note, my wait was only an hour and 30 minutes, the shortest I have waited so far! If it wasn't for the delay, it would have only been 30 minutes! This visit marked my fifth ride on AlpenFury since its debut in July.

After an exhilarating ride on AlpenFury, I took a ride on Shockwave! This cycle had many flips, which is always fun! One thing I noticed is as of recently, the gondolas don't park back in the position they started at as they normally do. I guess there was a tweak in the programing?

Afterwards, I ventured over to Lazy Bear Lodge for my first meal of the day. The smoked chicken and chili lime corn were all good. The only thing that wasn't good was the line that had formed inside Lazy Bear Lodge just before noon!

After lunch, I went over to White Water Canyon which had an under 20-minute wait due to the cooler weather. This was one of the shortest waits of the day!

After a slightly soaking ride on White Water Canyon, I went over to ride Tundra Twister. While in line, it began to rain for a short time. Luckily the queue for Tundra Twister is mostly covered.

Here's a look next to Splash Works of the Halloween Haunt props getting staged to be set up over the next month!

Up next was a ride on Psyclone. It began to rain again while I was in line, but stopped just before I got on!

Here's a look at one of the hanging baskets placed in front of Wonder Mountain on the bridge on International Street.

The sun came back out as I rode Spinovator!

Up next was a ride on Leviathan! It had about a 65 minute wait!

After a ride on Leviathan, I swung by the Cookie Cafe to have another broken cookie ice cream sundae. This time there was tons of cookie pieces in it! This and the blue ice cream are my favourite items from Cookie Cafe!

As of recently, Sledge Hammer has been opening at 4pm. I managed to get on it just after 4:30pm!

My final ride of the day was on the Antique Carousel.

Before I headed out, I got my second meal of the day from Après Poutinerie in AlpenFest. It was a decent poutine with lots of gravy and cheese curds with crispy fresh cut fries.

After a fun but busy day at Canada's Wonderland, it was time to head out. Until next time! 🙂

Canada's Wonderland - August 13th, 2025

On Wednesday, August 13th, I made my seventh visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! It was quite hot and humid, so we only spent about 7 hours at the park. Regardless, it was a great time as I managed to get on 12 different rides! My brother Scott and our mom joined me today.

Be sure to enjoy the photos from my visit! 🙂

We arrived at Canada's Wonderland just after 9:30am.

Since it is now August, the promoting of Halloween Haunt is now in full swing as it begins in just over a month from now.
New this year for Halloween is The Conjuring Beyond Fear maze, which is an upcharge attraction. Also new this year, guests attending Halloween Haunt will need to purchase a Haunted Attractions Pass to access the mazes, unlike in previous years.
While some may disagree to make the mazes an upcharge to Halloween Haunt, I kind of agree with this move as it will possibly reduce the over crowding of the mazes and hopefully reduce the vandalism and mischief in the mazes that often occurs.

To start our day, Scott and I made The Bat our first ride of the day. It was actually quite smooth today!

After The Bat, we headed over to Drop Tower. Drop Tower was closed during our past few visits, so it was great to freefall once again!

After freefalling at speeds up to 100 km/h, we went to Wilde Knight Mares. I don't tend to ride it very often, so it was nice to take a spin on it today.

With Leviathan's line being around 30 minutes, we took a ride on it! It provided a great ride today!

After an exhilarating ride on Leviathan, we boarded Vortex. The line was long, but moved quickly! I always enjoy the swinging on this rare suspended coaster!

Afterwards, we went to Lazy Bear Lodge for lunch. For my first meal of the day, I ordered hickory smoked chicken with a side of chili lime corn. It was really good and not spicy, but sweet, which was great!

After having a great meal, I walked across to Cookie Café and ordered a broken cookie ice cream sundae. It was quite good and had crispy chocolate chip cookie and ice cream cone pieces mixed into vanilla ice cream.

To cool off, Scott and I rode White Water Canyon.

To dry off, I took a spin on Tundra Twister. Today's ride featured a head dive towards the ground!

Scott and I then rode Mighty Canadian Minebuster. The line was quite long, so we used one of our one-time, single use Fast Lane passes for renewing our season pass recently to get on quickly. Our ride on Mighty Canadian Minebuster was just as great as our last with the retracking that occurred earlier this year!

While passing through Action Zone, I was surprised to see Chicken Shack open today! I am quite certain that it hadn't been open in over two years!

Sledge Hammer was unfortunately closed today. Luckily it had been operating during all of our previous visits.

With Sledge Hammer closed, we decided to ride Behemoth. It was filled with air-time goodness as always!

While passing through Grande World Exposition of 1890, Scott and I took a spin on Swing of The Century.

Afterwards, we took a ride on Antique Carousel with our mom.

It still saddens me to see Grande World Eatery closed. I don't completely understand why they closed it down last month, but I guess it is to save money. Hopefully it opens again in the not so distant future!

While we didn't ride AlpenFury today, I captured some photos of it, such as this one of the train passing through the skyflyer loop!

We made our way to Medieval Faire where I rode Dragon Fyre and then Scott joined me for another ride on Drop Tower. Afterwards, I headed back to Lazy Bear Lodge for my final meal of the day. The ribs and smashed potatoes were decent.

After a fun and hot day at the park, we decided to head home! 🙂

Canada's Wonderland - September 14th, 2024

On Saturday, September 14th I made my eighth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! My brother Scott and our mom joined me on this visit on this summer-like Saturday in mid-September!

We started our day with a ride on Leviathan just before the park opened for the day! Throughout the day, I managed to get on 13 different rides including classics like The Bat, Vortex, and Dragon Fyre, and other thrills like Drop Tower, Shockwave, Behemoth, and Tundra Twister, and Sledge Hammer just to name a few! Despite it being quite busy, we managed to have a great day!

Be sure to check out photos of my day at Canada's Wonderland! 🙂

We arrived at the park around 9:15am. To my surprise, we were able to walk on in and head over to Leviathan for our first ride of the day!

Here's a very empty International Street as the park doesn't officially open until 10am.

In less than two weeks, Halloween Haunt will be over taking the park for another year of scares! Many skeletons and other decorations have been set up throughout the park in preparation of the Halloween Haunt season.

This weekend was one of three weekends for the Oktoberfest event at Canada's Wonderland. The courtyard in Medieval Faire had quite the German vibe!

This is the first time in a very long time that I can recall Spinovator having an unobstructed view! For years there was a snack/refreshment trailer parked in front of the ride. Part way through the season, a more sturdy structure replaced the trailer.

For the upcoming Halloween Haunt season, the new Thirsty Dragon building was moved from in front of Spinovator to in front of Riptide, which is now closed for the season.

A skeleton has even overtaken Leviathan!

Leviathan started taking passengers approximately 15 minutes before the park opened for the day. Scott and I were on the second train of the day!

After Leviathan, we then rode Drop Tower, followed by The Bat once the park opened for the day.

To our surprise, The Bat was surprisingly smooth during this visit!

After The Bat, I took a spin on Shockwave! Over the last two weeks, the trees around Shockwave have been removed. Sadly you'll never have the chance to kick the trees ever again, but it was fun while it lasted! 🤣 Scott and I then rode Vortex!

Over in Frontier Canada, the park was preparing for Trick of Treat Street scare zone.

While in Frontier Canada, I took a ride on Tundra Twister. Ever since it opened last year, I just love how every ride on it is different!

Scott and I then rode Behemoth and then eventually rode Sledge Hammer.

The jack o' lanterns where strung above the entrance of Grande World Exposition of 1890 again like that have been for several years. This view will look different as AlpenFury will be going over the globe!

For my first meal of the day, I had the hickory smoked chicken with a side of Spring mix salad from Lazy Bar Lodge. It was very good as usual. I then had a cone of blue ice cream from dessert from the Cookie Cafe.

The pirate skeletons have found a treasure chest hopefully filled with gold at the base of Wonder Mountain!

These skeletons are just hanging around over Tim Hortons on International Street!

In the afternoon, park guests were enjoying the Oktoberfest event taking place in the medieval Faire Courtyard!

Later in the day, we all took a spin on the Antique Carousel.

For some reason I decided to take a ride on Flight Deck. It wasn't too bad during this visit as I was able to 'staple' my restraint so I didn't get jostled throughout the ride as I sat in the last row of the train.

For my final meal of the day, I had the new Nacho Bowl at Grande World Eatery. It was okay, but I think next time I'll order it without the nacho cheese as it made the chips very soggy.

Our final ride of the day was a second spin of the day on Sledge Hammer. Unfortunately Sledge Hammer is operating at a reduced capacity of 32 passengers as two gondolas are currently closed. Despite the longer wait, it still provides a fun ride!

That concludes my eighth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! I plan to return once again during the Thanksgiving long weekend in mid-October! 🙂
