Canada's Wonderland - July 24th, 2024

 On Wednesday, July 24th, my brother Scott and I hung out at Canada's Wonderland with our friend Amadeo and his friend Sarah! It was a 12 hour day at the park filled with tons of fun, thrills, and laughter! 🤣 Due to the threat of storms and rain, the park wasn't very busy, so we were able to get on many rides during our visit! I hadn't been to the park in almost a month, so it was great to see all the construction updates for the 2025 attraction.

This was my fifth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland and a awesome way to spend it! I hope to do it again soon! Enjoy the photos! 🙂🎢

Scott and I arrived at the park around 9:20am. There wasn't much of a crowd due to the threat of rain and a storm later in the day.

With all of the rain we have received so far this summer, International Street was looking very lush!

Since my last visit in late June, teaser signs and symbols have been added to Wonder Mountain for the new-for-2025 attraction. This is one of two signs on Wonder mountain with the word "Beware". The official announcement will be made on August 8th, 2024.

Throughout the day we would get a couple of rides on Leviathan.

It was amazing to be at the park on a not so busy day!

As a part of the teaser campaign, a rock/crystal marking that had recently been painted on the door on Wonder Mountain.

Since my last visit, the construction areas in International Festival had widened, making the paths a bit narrow. Scott and I started our day off with a ride on Vortex followed by The Fly and Wonder Mountain's Guardian.

Here's another marking on Wonder Mountain stating the date of the announcement for the new attraction.

There's great speculation that the new attraction will be a launched looping roller coaster inside Wonder Mountain! We'll have to wait and see!

There's a few new entrances into Wonder Mountain with the construction going on!

After getting on many rides around the park, we walked by the Grande World Eatery and saw they re-introduced the Nacho Bowl. Unfortunately the location was closed during our visit.

The flowers on International Street were flourishing with all the rain we've received so far this summer!

Once Amadeo and Sarah arrived at the park, a small thunder storm had passed through the area, so we went to the Lazy Bear Lodge for lunch. I had Hickory smoked chicken and smashed potatoes.

After our lunch, we went on Yukon Striker just before it began to pour! It rained hard for quite a while before letting up! We hung out in the Splash Works shop during the downpour.

It would take over 40+ minutes for the rides to reopen as a bit of thunder had rumbled during the downpour.

A lot of rain had fallen during the 20 minutes or so it had rained!

Wonder Mountain really stood out amongst the dark skies to the south of the park as the sun came out.

While we were waiting for the rides to reopen, the four of us headed to Planet Snoopy to get a ride on Snoopy's Racing Railway as of this year, you don't need a child to ride, as you needed in 2023 when it was new. it was nice being on this fun family launched coaster again for a second time this year! From the queue you get a nice view of Ghoster Coaster. After a ride on Snoopy's Racing Railway, we all rode Taxi Jam! 🤣

It was an exhilarating ride as per usual!

After Shockwave, we dropped in on Drop Tower!

Then we took a ride on Leviathan!

Later in the day I noticed where the second "Beware" sign is located on Wonder Mountain. With the colours of the signs, it leaves you wondering if the new ride will be themed to fire and ice.

More footings for the new ride have been constructed in International Festival!

In the evening we ate at Lazy Bear Lodge again. This time I had pulled pork and a spring salad.

From the Lazy Bear Lodge patio you get awesome views of Tundra Twister and Yukon Striker!

Yukon Striker looks beautiful under the evening sun!

Later in the evening we took a ride on Whiter Water Canyon, Mighty Canadian Minebuster, Behemoth, and Sledge Hammer!

Behemoth rode very well both times I rode it throughout the day! The trim brakes were minimal allowing for tons of airtime!

The midway in Action Zone was quite empty!

Sledge Hammer was a thrilling blur a the sun began to set!

After Sledge Hammer, we went on Tundra Twister, and Vortex followed by a night ride on Windseeker. Scott captured this photo of Windseeker while Amadeo, Sarah, and I were on it.

We all then went on The Fly! To our surprise, The Fly was running quite insane that evening, with no trim brakes on the top level, causing us to go around the tight turns very quickly! Amadeo and I rode it with our hands up the whole ride!🤣

Our second last ride of the night was on Drop Tower. Afterwards we waited outside the queue line for Leviathan to ensure we got on the last train of the night. We joined the queue just as the rope was hung up indicating the ride is closed for the night! Finishing your visit with a night ride on Leviathan is always a fun and thrilling time!

Here's the new diving structure on Arthur's Baye in Medieval faire at night. it is illuminated with colour changing LED lights.

The Royal Fountain was illuminated with different coloured lights. The fountains were lowered at as the park had been closed for almost 30 minutes at the time this photo was taken.

Six Flags New England - July 11th, 2024

 On July 11th, my Mom and I visited Six Flags New England, the fourth and final amusement park of our road trip!

It was great to be back at Six Flags New England of Agawam, Massachusetts after six years since our last visit as the park is very nice, the staff are very friendly, and the rides and roller coasters are very good! Six Flags New England still remains to be one of my favourite amusement parks a part of a chain!

It was a great day to be at Six Flags New England as it wasn't too hot and there was a nice breeze. To get to the park entrance from the parking lot, we took the tram as it is an ice and relaxing way to travel.

After the tram ride from the parking lot, we headed up the stairs and over the road to the entrance gate. Last time we were here, the stairs were covered in a wrap advertising M&M candies.

Here's an overview of the entrance plaza from the bridge at Six Flags New England. Of all the parks I have traveled to over the past few years, Six Flags New England has you scan your pass/tickets before going through security, unlike other parks that do it in the opposite order.

Here's an overview of the park map. A few rides have been added to the park since our visit in 2018. But a couple of rides have been removed too. But the new rides are great additions to Six Flags New England!

Once the rides opened for the day, we headed towards Wicked Cyclone at the North End of the park as it was one of the roller coasters I greatly enjoyed six years ago. Here is a look at Pandemonium and the New England SkyScreamer.

The Wicked Cyclone is a fun RMC roller coaster filled with tons of airtime and three inversions!

Wicked Cyclone was my first RMC coaster back in 2018. It still remains to be a favourite of mine to this day!

The zero-g stall inversion on Wicked Cyclone is quite fun!

With it being quite windy at times, the New England SkyScreamer was still testing. So I decided to have some fun on the Pandemonium. I recalled it spinning a lot in the past, and it delivered on this visit!

After my ride on Pandemonium, the New England SkyScreamer opened for the day! It provides views of the park and surrounding area at 400 feet in the air!

I took two rides on the New England SkyScreamer in a row as I didn't know if it would remain open throughout the day as the winds remained quite gusty. I forgot how the chairs swiveled while the ride was in motion, unlike the other Starflyer rides I have been on since. That small difference makes for an enjoyable and thrilling experience!

Once back on the ground, I took a spin on the Blizzard River, Six Flags New England's River Rapids ride. It seems to be less soaking than it was six years ago, but still enjoyable nonetheless.

When I rode Flashback for the first time in 2018, I found it to be very smooth for a Vekoma Boomerang. Six years later, Flashback is still very smooth for a Boomerang coaster with a train from the late '90s/ early 2000s. Earlier this year I was finally able to experience the Jolly Rancher Remix at HersheyPark, which has the new Vekoma train with vest restraints. I must say that Flashback at Six Flags New England comes very close in smoothness to that of the Jolly Rancher Remix!

From 2012 to 2019, Goliath a Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang coaster had operated here. It was eventually removed in late 2021. I was luckily to have rode Goliath in 2018 as it wasn't open for the majority of day, only opening in the late-afternoon from what I recall. It definitely wasn't the smoothest coaster with the cars by Premier Rides, but it was quite intense and thrilling with its menacing vertical spikes and massive cobra roll and loops. Hopefully this plot of land will be home to another ride or roller coaster just as thrilling as the former Goliath one day!

My next ride was on the fast moving Stampede Bumper Cars in the Crackaxle Canyon section of the park.

To my surprise, Houdini - The Great Escape was open during our visit as the website stated it was only open during Fright Fest, like its counterpart in at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. Thankfully this wasn't the case! Ever since experiencing this ride in 2018, I couldn't wait to ride again! It sure is quite an illusion of a ride!

One ride I was really surprised to see still at the park is the Tomahawk, a classic Huss Frisbee ride! I for sure thought it would have been removed during the ride removal blitz that Six Flags had done back in 2020. Thankfully it is still at Six Flags New England as I enjoy the older Huss Frisbee rides, even though they may not be nearly quite as thrilling as newer Frisbee rides!

Here's a distant view of the classic Thunderbolt. I would take a ride on it after visiting Crackaxle Canyon.

Here's a look at the Rockville section of Six Flags New England, a 50s themed area.

While in Rockville, I stopped in a fast Eddie's to have some honey barbeque chicken tenders with fries. They were quite good and flavourful!

Up next was a visit to Gotham City.

Sadly the Riddler Revenge, a Vekoma SLC was closed. I greatly enjoyed this one back in 2018 as it features the newer Vekoma trains with vest restraints, making the ride experience very smooth. 

Up next was a ride on one of my favourite B&M Floorless Coasters, Batman - The Dark Knight! I just love it for how compact and forceful it is! I am glad it was open during this visit as it is another favourite of mine at the park. 

Here's a look at Gotham City Crime Wave, a Zierer Wave Swinger. I enjoy wave swinger rides. Unfortunately though, this one has a long loading time, but that could have been just a one-off experience. Before a spin on the Gotham City Crime Wave, I took (multiple) spins of the Joker, the park's S&S 4D Free Spin coaster. It was my first ever S&S 4D Free Spin when I first visited in 2018. Luckily since I was a single rider, I didn't have to wait long as they sent me up the Flash Pass line.

After visiting Gotham City, I headed over to Scream, the park's S&S Power Tower. During this visit, the down tower was the only one operating on Scream. I guess this was due to the park not being overly busy on a Thursday in July.

After a ride on Scream, we headed down to the DC Universe section, home to Superman: The Ride and other themed attractions.

Since my last visit to Six Flags New England, two new rides have been added to the DC Universe section. One of them is a Zamperla Endeavour enterprise ride called Supergirl Skyflyer. It replaced the old Kryptonite Kollider wipeout ride. Supergirl Sky Flyer opened in 2021.

Superman The Ride is a fun Intamin hyper coaster as it is filled with many airtime hills, quick turns, and tunnels! 

The lift hill stands 208 feet tall on Superman: The Ride! 

Superman: The Ride is very photogenic.

I first rode Supergirl Sky Flyer. It provided the thrill of an old Enterprise ride with a modern seat arrangement. I was relieved it wasn't quite as forceful as I thought it would be given it is a floorless ride.

Up next was a ride on Superman The Ride. In 2018 I wasn't a huge fan of this roller coaster due to the bulky lap bars. But this time they did not bother me as I didn't get pinned down in my seat when the closing the lap bar restraint. It made the riding experience much more enjoyable!

After flying like Superman, I took a spin on Cyborg Hyper Drive, an indoor Chance Freestyle Wipeout ride, like that of Pandemonium at Six Flags Great Escape. Cyborg Hyper Drive opened in 2019. It was a great experience and one I would recommend if you love flat rides! 

Up next was a ride on the wild mouse with the World's longest name, Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum. I do recall riding it in 2018, but didn't remember how jarring it was! lol 

Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum is rather hidden from the trees that surround it. 

After being bashed on Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum, I took a ride on CatWoman's Whip, a Zierer Tivoli Large model roller coaster. It is a fun family coaster, but I find it quite odd how it doesn't go around twice. I feel like it did in 2018, but I am not too sure. 

The curvy track in the back seat is quite wild! 

While in DC Universe, I took another ride on Superman: The Ride, this time sitting closer to the back of the train! I love the layout as it has relentless airtime from start to finish! I am glad I enjoyed it during this visit! 

With the placement of the roller coaster track and paths, you can get some awesome shots of the trains whizzing by on Superman: The Ride! 

It looks like some new track was added on the Thunderbolt. Some more needs to be added as some parts were unfortunately quite rough, which is disappointing as I greatly enjoyed the thunderbolt in 2018. 

I took another spin on the New England SkyScreamer and the Wicked Cyclone. 

The Wicked Cyclone is a fun roller with plenty of airtime and hangtime!

Before leaving Six Flags New England, we took a ride on the 1909 Illions manufactured Grand Carousel. 

We had a great day at Six Flags New England! I hope to visit this park again sooner than six years as it is very nice! Thank you for following along as my Mom and I visited four amusement parks in five days! 🙂
