Cedar Point - May 31st and June 1st, 2026
From May 31st to June 4th, my mom and I visited Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Kentucky Kingdom! It was a fun road trip visiting these amusement parks during a week of beautiful weather! ☀️๐ข
Cedar Point - May 31st and June 1st, 2026:
On May 31st and June 1st, we visited Cedar Point located in Sandusky, Ohio. I was extremely pleased to visit Cedar Point for two days with beautiful weather as our first-ever visit to the park last May was very cold and rainy! Cedar Point is a completely different place when the sun shines, making it a great time to visit the park.
During this visit, I got to ride the new-for-2025 Siren's Curse, which was testing during our visit last year! It is a very fun roller coaster with great amounts of airtime! The new generation of Vekoma manufactured roller coasters are extremely fun!
I also enjoyed re-riding many of Cedar Point's roller coasters and rides rain-free and mostly Muffleheads flies-free, with the exception with my ride on Raptor!๐
During our visit, I also got to enjoy some great meals with my Six Flags all-park dining plan, with my favourite dining location still being Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill in Frontier Town. Photos of the yummy food are included below!
Be sure to enjoy the photos of our two days at Cedar Point! ๐
May 31st, 2026:
After a five and a half hour drive, we made it to Cedar Point on this beautiful Sunday afternoon on the last day of May!
It was nice to be back at Cedar Point!
It's amazing how different the park is when the sun is shining!
The nice summery weather allowed me to capture some photos of the beautiful flowerbeds around the park.
One ride that I did not get to ride last year as it was being worked on was the Cedar Downs Racing Derby. I was super excited to finally get to ride it as it is a rare ride!
The Cedar Downs Racing Derby may look like an innocent carousel ride, but once it starts going, you need to hang on as it goes 14.5 mph (23.3 km/h)!
The Cedar Downs Racing Derby was manufactured by Prior and Church and is one of three remaining Racing Carousels operating worldwide. It had previously operated at Euclid Beach Park from 1921 to 1965, before opening at Cedar Point in 1967. Euclid Beach Park closed in 1969. It is great that Cedar Point continues to operate and take care of this rare ride! Below is an off-ride video of the ride!
Up next was a ride on Siren's Curse, the Vekoma Tilt Coaster that opened in 2025, after our first visit to Cedar Point!
The main feature of Siren's Curse is the tilt track which holds the train in place before letting it descend the first drop of 160 feet, heading into a series of air-time filled turns and two inversions! It is just as fun to watch as it is to ride! I was lucky enough to sit near the back of the train, experiencing the airtime-filled vertical drop from the tilt track!
The twisted airtime of Siren's Curse is very fun!
After I rode Siren's Curse, we took a stroll through Frontier Trail on our way to Frontier Town.
Here's a look at the Cedar Point 2026 park map.
As we arrived at the park just before 3pm, I was becoming very hungry after a ride on Cedar Downs Racing Derby and Siren's Curse.
At the Farmhouse Kitchen & Grill in Frontier Town, with my dining plan, I ordered the grilled chicken with a side of mac and cheese and a soft biscuit. It was all very delicious!
After a great meal, I took a ride on the classic Wave Swinger.
We then bought some tasty funnel fries! More parks need these! They're really good!
While in Frontier Town, I also took a ride on Skyhawk, the park's Screamin' Swing ride.
Afterwards, I took a ride on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. It is a fun mine train coaster when you're not being pelted by rain or muffleheads! ๐คฃ
Another ride that is fun when not being bombarded by muffledheads is Gemini, Cedar Point's racing steel hybrid coaster!
Something missing from the Gemini Midway this year is the Monster. It was sadly retired during the 2025/2026 off-season. But its parts are helping keep the Monster at Kings Island alive! There are now only two Eyerly Monster rides operating in the US, one at Kings Island and the other at ValleyFair.
Continuing with the theme of riding Arrow manufactured roller coasters, I took a ride on Magnum-XL 200! It rides quite well for being a 37 year old hyper coaster and still offers some great experiences of airtime as you ride along the shores of Lake Erie!
The Corkscrew at Cedar Point is celebrating 50 years of operation in 2026! Last year, it kind of beat me up badly, and sadly it did this time too! ๐For me, being 6 feet tall doesn't do me any favours on Corkscrew as I was crunched under the manually locking shoulder restraint, putting great pressure on my back while going through the vertical loop!
It was nice seeing the Main Midway looking lively under the late-afternoon sun, unlike last year's visit!
The Boardwalk also looked livelier with the nice summer-like weather! It is a rather beautiful section!
As the park was only open until 8pm, I took my final rides of the day on the classic Calypso, Troika, and Raptor. Here's the Troika whirling away!
My last ride of the day was on Raptor! Sadly the muffleheads swarmed the track, causing me to become plastered by these small flies! ๐คฎ I highly suggest riding Raptor earlier in the day to avoid the muffleheads!
After having a great Sunday afternoon and evening at Cedar Point, it was time to head to our hotel for the night!
June 1st, 2026:
Day two at Cedar Point also started off beautifully, with a light breeze and plenty of sunshine!
My first ride of the day was on Top Thrill 2! I was glad to get back onto this wild coaster and not having to worry about it closing down due to inclement weather! During this visit, I rode Top Thrill 2 in the third car, which provided a different experience than the last row which I sat in last year. It's fun to be launched forwards, backwards up the vertical spike, and then forward again over the 420 foot top hat element!
Being whipped through the twisted vertical drop is fun too!
Speaking of getting whipped, I was excited to ride Steel Vengeance again as it is one of my favourite roller coasters at the park! I still find this coaster to be insane as it was last year! It is relentless from start to finish, while riding with your hands up as you maneuver the many airtime-filled hills, near-miss elements, and four inversions!
After my awesome ride on Steel Vengeance, I joined my mom for a relaxing ride on the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad.
Here's my mom and I taking a relaxing ride on this great train ride!
I really enjoy the theming on the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad. The residents of Boneville are really fun to watch as you travel by!
While it was a sunny day, things were still looking rather dead in Boneville. ๐
The crack of the rifle startles me every time! ๐
Mr. Possum and his PoleCat Pickers were putting on a show in Boneville as we passed by on this lovely Monday afternoon.
I really do think Boneville needs a better fire department if they really want to put the fire out! I guess good help is hard to find! ๐
After a relaxing journey through BoneVille on the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad, I took a thrilling ride on Rougarou!
For my first meal of the day, we ate at the BackBeatQue near the Gemini Midway. I really liked the theming of the restaurant!
While the meal looks delicious, the ribs were quite fatty and not enjoyable! But the waffle fries and corn bread were great!
Up next was an amazing ride on Millennium Force! Maybe it's just me, but every time I got in line for Millennium during last year's and this year's visit, it went down for an extended period of time. Is this a common occurrence for this amazing giga coaster? Regardless, the wait is always worth it!
After an exhilarating ride on Millennium Force, I took a relaxing ride on the Sky Ride.
It provides great views of the park and surrounding area!
Windseeker was operating both days I was there.
Here's a look towards Raptor from the Sky Ride.
One of GateKeeper's trains was flying majestically through the first inversion as I passed by!
Here's a look towards the back of the park from the Sky Ride.
Once back on the ground, I took another spin on the Cedar Downs Racing Derby!
I then drove my mom around the on Cadillac Motor Cars.
Afterwards, I took a ride on the classic Blue Streak wooden roller coaster! I truly enjoy classic out-and-back wooden coasters and the Blue Streak is a great example of that!
Another classic ride I enjoy riding are carousels. The Midway Carousel is a gem of a carousel at 112 years old! It really stands out on sunny days at Cedar Point!
Here we are about to take a spin on this beautiful Daniel Muller built carousel. The Midway Carousel has been operating at Cedar Point for the past 80 years!
The Ocean Motion is celebrating 45 years of high-tide fun at Cedar Point in 2026!
The line for GateKeeper was relatively short, so I took a ride on it. I had forgotten how much fun this coaster is with its keyhole element and inversions!
Up next I took a ride on possibly the World's quietest bumper cars, the Dodgems! I thought the midway lights above the cage ceiling was a nice touch!
My second meal of the day was from Hugo's Italian Kitchen! The pizza and breadstick were phenomenal, making it possibly the best amusement park pizza I have ever had!
My last ride of the day was on the down side of the Power Tower. The previous day I rode the up side. Both versions of the ride provide great views of the park and Lake Erie from 240 feet above!
After a great two days at Cedar Point, it was time to venture down to Kings Island the following morning! I was super grateful to experience Cedar Point during two days of beautiful weather this time around! Until next time, Cedar Point! ๐
