Canada's Wonderland - August 28th, 2019

The weather was nice and sunny, so it warranted another visit to Canada's Wonderland for the season! Today (August 28th) marked visit number nine of the season for me, so I wasn't bothered by the crowds and had an amazing time! It was nice to be back at the park after nearly a month of being away!

After being away from Canada's Wonderland for nearly one month, we decided it was time to pay another visit. Our day started out partially cloudy as we rolled into the parking lot.

It was nice to see Wonder Mountain once again. Although the higher fountains were off during our visit.

Before you know it, it'll be Halloween Haunt season once again at Canada's Wonderland! Halloween Haunt runs on weekend nights starting September 27th. Be sure to visit Canada's Wonderland's website for hours and ticket pricing.

Also coming up this year is the all-new Winterfest! The park will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland starting November 22nd and operating on select days through December 31st. Be sure to visit the park's website for more details! 

After getting two rides on Yukon Striker, one ride on Behemoth, and a ride on the one and only Sledge Hammer, I captured this photo of it.

Shortly after, I managed to get a decent ride on Flight Deck. Keeping your head firmly against the headrest and making your restraint nice and tight allows for you to have a decent ride on the Vekoma manufactured SLC.

Drop Tower was drawing in the crowds on this very busy end of summer Wednesday.

The hanging flowers in Medieval Faire were displaying a beautiful bloom.

Young amusement park visitors and those young at heart were taking relaxing and scenic rides on Kidzville Station (foreground) and Jokey's Jalopies track rides while Lumberjack looped in the distance.

With the new for 2020 rides announced a couple of weeks ago, news has been shared that one of the additions, Beagle Brigade Airfield will be replacing Peanuts Putt Putt Mini golf in Planet Snoopy.

This mini golf attraction originally opened with the park in 1981, known as City Zoo Golf.

It happened to be quite popular today as the park was busy. While it is kind of sad to see another original park attraction fade into history, it is nice to see a new ride that generations to come will enjoy.

After catching a ride on the timeless Ghoster Coaster, we ventured through the neighbouring Kidzville. It sure was packed!

Psyclone was also eating up the crowds of guests as the late afternoon arrived.

Many visitors were even taking the opportunity to fly on the Xtreme Skyflyer attraction throughout the day.

After catching a ride on the Antique Carousel, my Mom and I decided it was time to head on home. Here's a beautiful view of the International Street Royal Fountain.

Canada's Wonderland - June 25th, 2019

Well, it has been 20 days since my previous visit to Canada's Wonderland! In light of that, I decided to make my sixth visit of the season on this beautiful late-June Tuesday. The warmer weather sure brought out the crowds, which was kind of surprising for a Tuesday in late June. I am now up to 19 rides on the all-new Yukon Striker. Be sure to check out my photos below!

As mentioned, this visit sure was beautiful weather-wise. The bright sun made International Street glow.

There was a low flying jet that passed over the park in the late morning. It was quite interesting to see, as it looked close to Yukon Striker.

The flowers in the flowerbeds throughout the park sure popped and caught your attention in the sun! Yukon Striker just happens to be in the background.

Although riding Yukon Striker nearly 20 times as of this visit, the first drop still gets me every time! 

The hanging baskets nearby the Medieval Faire entrance are a nice touch.

It has been many years since I have watched the iconic Victoria Falls High Divers show. So, my Mom and I deiced to catch a mid-day performance. 

The backwards jump off of Wonder Mountain into the pool below always pleases the crowd!

After another great day, my Mom and I decided it was time to head home after over six hours of fun! Thank you for taking a look at my sixth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland! :-)

Canada's Wonderland- July 18th, 2018

This beautiful Wednesday marked a fifth visit to Canada's Wonderland this season for our Mom, Scott, and I. The weather was cooler than it was over the weekend, so it made our visit more tolerable and enjoyable. It was nice to be back after travelling to other amusement parks in the US.

Since our last visit to Canada's Wonderland which happened a month ago, something had unfortunately changed. While it is not overly significant, some visitors may notice. You will soon discover in one of the photos below (don't worry, all rides are still there and operating!).

Now, let us get onto the photos of our fun-filled day at Canada's premier theme park!

It was nice to see Wonder Mountain again after a nearly a week of travelling to other amusement parks in the US earlier this month. I felt at "home" once again.

While I was away from "home" over the past month, the plumbing was fixed, as in White Water Canyon has its waterfalls again. Although not exactly the same as they were when they had last operated, it was nice to see them falling down the rock facade once again.

Since it is the month of July, Celebration Canada has returned for another season of spectacular performances from acrobatics, to stunt bike shows, and even diving shows at Arthur's Baye, in Medieval Faire. Celebration Canada wraps up on July 31st, so be sure not to miss it! 

Classic rides such as Nightmares were drawing in large crowds today!

Now, it is Skyhawk that has changed, and not for the better as far as I am concerned. I had read reports online stating recently that the wings on Skyhawk were fixed in such a way that it makes it nearly impossible to flip the seat upside down while the ride is in operation. These reports were unfortunately true. For someone like me who enjoyed Skyhawk for the ability of being able to flip the seat upside down continuously throughout the duration of the ride, the modification of the wings is a huge disappointment! Why the park only allows the wings to move only half of the way they formerly had is beyond me. Last time I had visited Canada's Wonderland was a little over a month ago, which at the time I was still able to flip the seat multiple times throughout the duration of the ride. It is a shame that an awesome ride such as Skyhawk, only installed two years ago is now ruined for the unforeseeable future. :-(

Here is Slingshot sending passengers 300 feet into the air in only a matter of seconds. Scott and I look forward to taking our annual ride on it sometime this season.

Here is SledgeHammer, the one and only Huss Jump 2. SledgeHammer is celebrating 15 years of operation at Canada's Wonderland this year.

After I had captured this photo, Scott and I took another ride of the day on SledgeHammer. After the second jump, the ride came to a screeching halt. For the next 10-15 minutes, we were stuck on board until maintenance came by to resolve the issue, which of course was a technical one. Despite all the downtime SledgeHammer faces, I still greatly enjoy riding it!

After a fun-filled day, we decided it was time to head home. Thanks for reading and looking at our photos of another day at Canada's Wonderland! :-)

Canada's Wonderland- June 13th, 2018

Today marked our fourth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland. The day started out foggy and humid and ended sunny and windy, with less humidity. Since the park was not busy, we were able to ride and re-ride many rides.

Here is a nice flowery view of the entrance to Canada's Wonderland as we had arrived that morning.

The Royal Fountains were spraying sky-high, kind of blending in with the grey sky backdrop.

This is a view of the active construction taking place for Canada's Wonderland's next roller coaster, opening in 2019. The original path leading to Splash Works was removed and a new path was rerouted along the edge of land where SkyRider had once operated. As you can see, many supports have been put into place. This shot was captured after Scott and I took a ride on Mighty Canadian Minebuster.

As our thrilling day progressed, Riptide seem to have minor downtime throughout the duration of our visit. Here it is momentarily stopped with the passengers on board. Its constant downtime today prevented me from getting a ride on it. I'll be sure to hop on board next time!

After many test runs, SledgeHammer finally opened for the day. It was great to get a ride on this one-of-a-kind Huss Jump 2 as it was closed early in the season, only reopening after a lot of maintenance a week or so ago.

SledgeHammer is celebrating its 15th year of operation at Canada's Wonderland. While this technically advanced thrill ride has quite a bit of downtime from time to time, Canada's Wonderland's amazing maintenance crew makes sure that it still provides an exhilarating ride experience for those looking for a quick thrill! Interestingly enough, this year SledgeHammer seems to provide a bit more hang time when the arms rise, compared to previous seasons. It was a nice touch, to this thrilling ride!

As the afternoon rolled along, I decided to get some artsy shots. Here is one of Flight Deck looking through the tree branches below. 

After feeling the humidity of the day for many hours, getting on many rides and a few on the water rides, White Water Canyon and TimberWolf Falls which helped us cool off, we decided it was time to head home after another amazing time at the park!
