Canada's Wonderland - August 28th, 2019

The weather was nice and sunny, so it warranted another visit to Canada's Wonderland for the season! Today (August 28th) marked visit number nine of the season for me, so I wasn't bothered by the crowds and had an amazing time! It was nice to be back at the park after nearly a month of being away!

After being away from Canada's Wonderland for nearly one month, we decided it was time to pay another visit. Our day started out partially cloudy as we rolled into the parking lot.

It was nice to see Wonder Mountain once again. Although the higher fountains were off during our visit.

Before you know it, it'll be Halloween Haunt season once again at Canada's Wonderland! Halloween Haunt runs on weekend nights starting September 27th. Be sure to visit Canada's Wonderland's website for hours and ticket pricing.

Also coming up this year is the all-new Winterfest! The park will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland starting November 22nd and operating on select days through December 31st. Be sure to visit the park's website for more details! 

After getting two rides on Yukon Striker, one ride on Behemoth, and a ride on the one and only Sledge Hammer, I captured this photo of it.

Shortly after, I managed to get a decent ride on Flight Deck. Keeping your head firmly against the headrest and making your restraint nice and tight allows for you to have a decent ride on the Vekoma manufactured SLC.

Drop Tower was drawing in the crowds on this very busy end of summer Wednesday.

The hanging flowers in Medieval Faire were displaying a beautiful bloom.

Young amusement park visitors and those young at heart were taking relaxing and scenic rides on Kidzville Station (foreground) and Jokey's Jalopies track rides while Lumberjack looped in the distance.

With the new for 2020 rides announced a couple of weeks ago, news has been shared that one of the additions, Beagle Brigade Airfield will be replacing Peanuts Putt Putt Mini golf in Planet Snoopy.

This mini golf attraction originally opened with the park in 1981, known as City Zoo Golf.

It happened to be quite popular today as the park was busy. While it is kind of sad to see another original park attraction fade into history, it is nice to see a new ride that generations to come will enjoy.

After catching a ride on the timeless Ghoster Coaster, we ventured through the neighbouring Kidzville. It sure was packed!

Psyclone was also eating up the crowds of guests as the late afternoon arrived.

Many visitors were even taking the opportunity to fly on the Xtreme Skyflyer attraction throughout the day.

After catching a ride on the Antique Carousel, my Mom and I decided it was time to head on home. Here's a beautiful view of the International Street Royal Fountain.

Canada's Wonderland- June 13th, 2018

Today marked our fourth visit of the season to Canada's Wonderland. The day started out foggy and humid and ended sunny and windy, with less humidity. Since the park was not busy, we were able to ride and re-ride many rides.

Here is a nice flowery view of the entrance to Canada's Wonderland as we had arrived that morning.

The Royal Fountains were spraying sky-high, kind of blending in with the grey sky backdrop.

This is a view of the active construction taking place for Canada's Wonderland's next roller coaster, opening in 2019. The original path leading to Splash Works was removed and a new path was rerouted along the edge of land where SkyRider had once operated. As you can see, many supports have been put into place. This shot was captured after Scott and I took a ride on Mighty Canadian Minebuster.

As our thrilling day progressed, Riptide seem to have minor downtime throughout the duration of our visit. Here it is momentarily stopped with the passengers on board. Its constant downtime today prevented me from getting a ride on it. I'll be sure to hop on board next time!

After many test runs, SledgeHammer finally opened for the day. It was great to get a ride on this one-of-a-kind Huss Jump 2 as it was closed early in the season, only reopening after a lot of maintenance a week or so ago.

SledgeHammer is celebrating its 15th year of operation at Canada's Wonderland. While this technically advanced thrill ride has quite a bit of downtime from time to time, Canada's Wonderland's amazing maintenance crew makes sure that it still provides an exhilarating ride experience for those looking for a quick thrill! Interestingly enough, this year SledgeHammer seems to provide a bit more hang time when the arms rise, compared to previous seasons. It was a nice touch, to this thrilling ride!

As the afternoon rolled along, I decided to get some artsy shots. Here is one of Flight Deck looking through the tree branches below. 

After feeling the humidity of the day for many hours, getting on many rides and a few on the water rides, White Water Canyon and TimberWolf Falls which helped us cool off, we decided it was time to head home after another amazing time at the park! Canada's Wonderland- June 22nd, 2017

So, after a three week hiatus we made it back to Canada's Wonderland for our fifth visit of the season. My brother Scott and our Mom accompanied me on our visit. The visit to Canada's Wonderland sure upped my spirits as college was bogging me down for a while. Everyone deserves fun in life every so often, so I managed to squeeze another visit into my schedule! Below are some awesome photos from our day. Enjoy!

We entered the park shortly after 9:30am and were greeted by many Canada 150 celebration decorations and of course, Snoopy!

If you didn't already know, Canada is celebrating 150 years as a country this year! 

As we were waiting for the rides to open for the day at 10am, I captured this interesting and beautiful photo of the flowers at the base of the globe in Action Zone.

Here is Flight Deck testing before it opened for the day. It was neat watching the slightly closed restraints completely close by the time the train went through the roll over

After catching many morning rides on the rides located within Action Zone and International Festival, as well as a ride on White Water Canyon, it began to rain. We ventured on our way over to Coasters Diner in Action Zone to get a bite to eat. After getting a bite to eat, we headed to the arcades to play some games as the rain passed.

Even well after the rainfall, there was still a lot of drying up to do. Here is a maintenance crew member drying off the track from Kidzville Station. Scott and I were headed over to Ghoster Coaster when I captured this photo.

Here are some riders going 300 feet into the air on Slingshot. After this photo, Scott and I flung sky high for another enjoyable ride on Slingshot! Season Pass holders can now receive $5 off when they present their season pass when purchasing tickets for a ride on Slingshot.

My Mom and I took a spin on the Antique Carousel. There was a slight delay before we got on so, while we waited I managed to capture a photo of this carved horse on this beautiful 1928 PTC carousel.

While my Mom and I took a ride on the Antique Carousel, Scott sat in the shade and watched as we enjoyed a relaxing ride.

Work was being done on the diving platform in Arthur's Bay located in Medieval Faire as there will be Canada 150 celebrations taking place all throughout July.

We decided to call it a day after 4pm. Here is Scott, our Mom, and I after a fun and enjoyable day at Canada's Wonderland!

Canada's Wonderland- May 5th, 2017

We made our second trip to Canada's Wonderland on this cool rainy day! But, that didn't scare us away or dampen our day as we were well prepared. We managed to get on many rides, including the most intense rides that Canada's Wonderland has to offer! Going on a rainy day definitely creates for an interesting time! Take a look at the photos below of the great time we had!

We arrived at the park on this drizzly morning shortly before opening as usual. As you can tell, it sure was coming down! Once the rides opened at 10am, we made our way to Medieval Faire and ventured throughout the rest of the park throughout the day.

After a couple of hours of riding many rides in the rain and playing a few games in the arcade, we decided it as  time to eat. We stopped in at Coasters Diner in Action Zone. It was good food and service as usual. After eating, we began catching some rides again. Here is a view of Action Zone looking from Coasters Diner.

Here is a quick view of SWing of the Century giving some school kids a ride. The park was very empty today as it was just a few groups of school kids and us having fun in the rain!

My Mom and I decided to capture a ride on the beautiful Antique Carousel. We thought it would have been a must ride on a rainy day, but we were the only ones when this photo was taken.

Here is a lone passenger riding Backlot Stunt Coaster in the drizzle. I had taken a ride on it before I captured this photo. It was good and not as rough as usual. I guess the rain helped provide such a ride. All the coasters we rode during our visit were 'flying' due to the rain on the track!

Here is Mighty Canadian Minebuster's lift hill. Scott and and I rode it in the morning and then I rode it once again in the afternoon. It rode very well both times and the re-tracked helix definitely provides a better experience as we had discovered during Season Pass Sneak Preview Night.

After riding quite a few more rides, we decided to walk around the park a little more.

During our visit, Soaring Timbers was being extensively worked on despite the great amount of rainfall. Canada's Wonderland is working very hard to get this all-new for 2017 ride operating as soon as possible. While Scott and I were on Drop Tower earlier in the day, we saw Soaring Timbers testing. It looked awesome! I can't wait for it to open!

Here is another view of Soaring Timbers. You can see the lights that are located on each end of the gondolas. It will definitely be a sight to see at night!

Here is one of Vortex's trains speeding through the rain. Scott and I had rode it in the morning as it rained. We were getting pelted in the face as it traveled at speeds up to 90 km/h!

Here is another deserted view of the park in Action Zone, looking towards the Kingswood Music Theatre entrance.

Here are a few remaining park visitors capturing a ride on Swing of the Century. It gave a great ride as usual!  

Here is one of Flight Deck's trains completing the roll-over inversion. I had rode Flight Deck and Time Warp during my visit and found them to provide relatively tolerable ride experiences, unlike previous experiences. I guess the rain on the tracks and the cooler weather helped provide a good ride experience.

After six hours of fun in the rain, it was time to leave for the day as the park was closing at 4pm due to the inclement weather. Here is Scott, our mom, and I standing in front of the Royal Fountains just before the park closed for the day! Despite the rainy weather, we managed to have a wonderful time as you can never have a bad day at Canada's Wonderland!
